Psychosomatic diseases are diseases that begin in the psyche (the psychological component of the person), but are reflected in the soma, that is, in the body. According to the various studies, 40% to 90% of all diseases can be attributed to a psychosomatic origin. Official World Health Organization data identify between 38% and 42%, and the famous Italian scientist Antonio Meneghetti - a practitioner who specializes in the treatment of psychosomatic diseases - states that everything that happens in life has a psychosomatic origin.
To date, the most numerous studies have focused on the psychological causes of the following diseases and symptoms: asthma, gastric and duodenal ulcers, hypertension, coronary heart disease, headaches, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, stress and vertigo. Hypnosis can help to find the solution to eliminate the cause of these patients, but also to find resources to fight the symptoms. However, it is not a substitute for traditional medicine to treat these disorders.
